Week 10 Action Plan

Day 1 (8/15): AM - Finish sketching the head accessories, Explore Japanese calligraphy for the frame, test on Spark AR if enough time.

: PM - Test the head accessories on Spark AR, adjustments and observe what needs to be fixed on the sketch

Did it get done? : I finished the sketching and tested them out on Spark AR, made adjustments - I realised that I was not able to draw something outside of the face plane, and I will need to learn how to do this moving forward.

What next: I want to experiment with various Japanese calligraphy/typography for the frame. I will also need to fix the technical difficulty that was going on, and test the filter on spark AR Player on my phone.

Day 2 (8/16): AM - Find a way to add head accessories that will not be cut off

PM - Explore Japanese calligraphy/typography, think of the composition of the frame

Did it get done? : I have done some experiments for Japanese typography, however I still have not found a way to add head accessories without it being cut off. I will have to start thinking about the composition/final look of the frame.

What next: Back to the filters, consolidate the calligraphy sketch and the composition of the filter, decide what will be included (face stickers, head accessories, frame, typography?)

Day 3 (8/17): AM - Finish up the typography work, update workflow and padlet

PM - Sketch out the final look of the filter, decide on the details

Did it get done?: I was able to finish the typography study works, however I feel that I could have spent more time deciding on the details, as I feel a bit lost - what should I include in order to deliver the message to the audiences accurately?

What next : I will need to consider the question I raised above, and start sketching the final look of the filter as now I only have a vague idea. I should also think about the typography work - however I feel that I may be overloading myself too much?

Day 4 (8/18): AM - Start working on final look of calligraphy work, Progress tutorial

PM - Depends on my progress tutorial - I may be able to develop different ideas?

Did it get done?: Through progress tutorial I was intrigued by the idea of creating a scrap book - as I originally wanted to create snap shoot magazines. I started doing some research, and decided to use the book making workshop which could help me.

What next: I would have to read some academic paper on Harajuku for deeper conceptual understandings. While working on the final sketch of the filter, I could start creating digital collages for the scrap book as an experiment. If it seems to not work out, I will focus on the filter alone.
